I’ve never been sold on rugs in the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, I love how they look, but I always worry about the mess. I worry that I’ll find the rug of my dreams and proceed to RUIN it with too many splatters of pasta sauce. So you can imagine that when I first heard about washable rugs, my interest was peaked. Still, I wasn’t sure how they would stack up, quality-wise.

I’m happy to report that I have since ordered a machine-washable rug from Walmart, and the quality far exceeds my expectations! The quality is top-notch, we can keep it looking new AND it’s stylish. 10/10 recommend. You can see more of my washable rug picks below! There are so many good ones.

Is anyone else excited to welcome the dropping temperatures and changing seasons? While I don’t love the cold, I do love the coziness that cooler weather can bring. I tend to swap bedding, decorate with warmer hues and generally focus on nesting for the winter. It’s probably no coincidence that my sleep health tends to take a higher spot on my priority list during this transition too. Good sleep hygiene is my favorite form of self-care, y’all.

You might remember that this summer I got some cute bedding I found at Walmart Home ( you can find that post here) and this fall, I’ve partnered with Walmart Home to create a bedroom environment that’s ideal for our sleep wellness. I finally got some Euro pillows and velvet shams, something I've been wanting for years now! You can’t see it, but I also purchased a mattress topper since I like a softer mattress situation. Perhaps most importantly though, I upgraded the sound machine I use. As someone with tinnitus (ringing in my ears), a sound machine is an absolute necessity for a good night’s rest. What’s incredible about this one though, is that it includes sounds that help you meditate and relax before bed. Something all of us could benefit from!

I have to admit that after spending so many of the first few months here working on the bedroom (including changing the paint color numerous times), I have pretty much ignored the room since. However, this week I did some shopping at Walmart Home and scooped up a few fun bedroom items, including bedding, velvet + linen throw pillows, a small orb lamp, and a stunning gold picture frame for our wedding photos.

All this to say, don’t sleep on Walmart when it comes to home decor and furniture! They recently added a Wow And Now section in (select) stores and online that is FULL of fun decor finds at amazing prices. It changes often, so things stay fresh which I always appreciate!
