I’m embarrassed to say that I have never once stayed in a lodge of any kind, so I feel extremely grateful that my first experience was at Scribners Lodge with my friends at Urban Outfitters Home.

The weather was perfect last week and the fall foliage just started to turn, so it couldn’t have been a better time to make the trip. As soon as I settled in, I checked out the itinerary they had set for us and started exploring the lodge. To the shock of absolutely no one, it was STUNNING. I’m already desperate to go back during winter time when I can take full advantage of all of the fireplaces. COZY.

The trip included yoga, a hike to the beautiful Kaaterskill Falls, and delicious farm to table meals but if you know me, you know I LOVE a movie night, so I was most looking forward to checking out the new screening room at the lodge that had been recently designed using cozy pieces from Urban Outfitters Home.

I said this in my Instagram stories when I was there, but I was blown away by how nice all of the pieces were in person! I have those stools on my wishlist now…

Since we were up in the Catskill Mountains, it was (brilliantly) decided that we should watch Dirty Dancing, so that’s exactly what we did. It never gets old.

The two days flew by and I was so sad to leave, but as soon as I got home, you better believe I hopped on the Urban Outfitters website to check out some of their new fall furniture and decor.

It’s only been 24 hours since I revealed the paint color we went with for the bedroom (you can see that here) and I’m already thinking about the next room I would like to tackle! Or at least, start planning.

This primary bathroom was a major draw for us when we were applying for apartments. It was sunny with a beautiful window, had an updated shower featuring marble and classic subway tile, and the owner expressed a new vanity was on the way.

I knew right away that this was my chance to experiment with wallpaper — something I have never used before! Mostly because our previous homes have all had picture frame moldings, which can limit wall treatment options.

I took this photo during our first viewing. You can see why I was so excited about all of the natural light!

The first order of business was installing our relaxed roman shade from our previous apartment. It was a custom piece, but luckily it’s the right width. It’s a bit long, but we’re ignoring that for the time being… LOL.

We also hung up a view antique cabinets for additional storage and put up a placeholder mirror. Spot the new vanity too!

I went ahead and ordered a few peel and stick wallpaper samples that arrived today, but to be honest, I’m not convinced any of them are quite right. What do you think?

Sometimes you don’t set out to start collecting things, but it happens anyway. That’s been the case with us and coffee table books. Of course, they’re not just coffee table books, but books that are not only beautiful to display but full of imagery and words that inspire. Personally, I want our coffee table and shelves full of books we actually like to pick up and read every now and again.

Below, I’ve rounded up some books we have and love, some books on our radar, and some vintage options too!

Our collection is equal parts vintage and new. Anytime I’m at a thrift store or antique shop, I always make sure to look through the book section. There’s almost always a few treasures to be found and if you don’t find yourself at a lot of vintage shops, you can still get your vintage fix on Etsy, eBay, Chairish, or 1stDibs! We have these books and love them, and just started collecting these books after seeing them on Instagram.

I cannot believe the holiday season is almost over! Time really has flown by over here, but at least we still have a few more months left of cozy season. Since we didn’t (and still don’t) have many plans to leave the house this holiday season, I’ve really leaned into creating a cozy oasis for us to enjoy the season together. Think as many twinkle lights as possible, comfy throw blankets and pillows, and garland EVERYWHERE. I’ve realized that as much as I love the smell of natural garland, I just don’t love the mess, so faux has been essential for us. This is the latest style I’ve added to our faux garland collection!

I partnered with Walmart to add a few more last-minute touches to our dining corner, including this small pre-lit flocked tree and a few other little pieces of holiday decor. I noticed quite a few cute and cozy items on their website too, so I went ahead and added a chunky throw blanket and textured pillow to my cart too! They will most definitely come in handy during the next few cold months.

It’s no secret that I LOVE to collect candle and votive holders. I almost always leave a big antique shopping trip with at least one, and even though we don’t always have the space to add more, they really do come in handy when I’m planning a dinner party or special event. While I tend to gravitate towards vintage (Orrefors and Kosta especially), I also love a good modern candelabra.

Other than buying in-person, my favorite source for quality vintage candle holders is Etsy. Another go-to source? Thrift shops! They are by far the best source if you want to grow your collection without spending too much.

I sifted through my favorites to find some links for you! You’ll notice most are glass, crystal, or metal — all materials I’m drawn to for candle holders. There’s just something about sunlight hitting a glass votive holder that makes me swoon.
